My name is Ms. Nicole Shagi and I am a First Grade teacher. This is my 5th year teaching at St. Agnes Cathedral School. I was born and raised on Long Island, New York. I went to Molloy College and received my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. I then continued my education at Molloy College and received my Master’s degree in TESOL (teachers of English to other languages). From the time I could remember, it has always been my dream to become a teacher. After coming home from elementary school I would play school for hours at home with my sisters. I am honored that my dream came true! My philosophy of teaching is that every student is unique and learns differently; therefore I always try my best to meet each of my student’s needs. I believe every child should be valued and treated with respect. I enjoy working with children and helping them reach for their dreams through their education. An education should empower a child and help him or her make a positive contribution to our world!
I enjoy being outdoors and traveling! During the summer I spend most of my free-time at the beach and with my amazing family. I also love to cook and bake!
I am looking forward to this school year!
