Goals and Objectives

St. Agnes Cathedral School's Reading Support
 is designed to help students meet the New York State Learning Standards in English Language Arts and Literacy. We practice phonological awareness, decoding and word study, guided and independent reading of progressively more difficult texts, writing exercises, and comprehension strategies. Informal reading inventories and progress monitoring assessments are administered throughout the year. 

Small groups meet 2 or 3 times a cycle for approximately 35 minutes. 

Eligibility is based on classroom performance, benchmark assessments, performance on the NYS English Language Arts and Literacy Test, and/or teacher recommendation.
