Website of St. Agnes Cathedral School. Please feel free to peruse the website to learn about the history of the school, its mission,
curriculum, students, faculty, staff and programs.
1917, the school, after ninety-nine years, continues to provide a
spiritually rich and challenging academic program for Catholic children
in grades K-8. The commitment of clergy, administrators, faculty, staff
and parents to ongoing growth and quality has resulted in recognition
by the United States Department of Education as a National School of
Excellence and accreditation by the Middle States Association for
Colleges and Schools.
With an enrollment of over 700 students, St. Agnes
Cathedral School is the largest K-8 Parish elementary school in the
Diocese of Rockville Centre.

Congratulations to all our 2nd graders who received the Sacrament of Reconciliation on March 4th and March 11th. May Jesus, the Good Shepherd, bless you and keep you in His loving care.
During this 3rd week of Lent, the students will pray for the parishioners of St. Agnes Cathedral and St. Clement Catholic Church in Nuaso. They will continue their Bible study and make their sacrificial offerings to St. Clement Catholic Church.
Grades 3 and 4 will receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation this week.

First Communion Parent Meetings will be held in the Parish Center on Wednesday, March 22nd at 1 P.M. and 7:30 P.M.
St. Agnes Cathedral School will be marching in the RVC St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday, March 25th! Please click on the link below to access the flyer and permission slip. Please note, students in grades 6-8 were given permission slips to march. Any family interested in marching, please download the form and write in your participation as a family. The St. Agnes Cathedral School Service Club will begin its spring session this week. The club will meet on Tuesday, March 21st from 2:45- 3:45 PM in the Newman Dining Hall for a general meeting to discuss the spring activities. Pick-up is from the main doors of the school at 3:45 PM. Thursday, March 23rd is the long anticipated Green and Gold at 7 P.M. in the gym. Tickets for this event will be sold on Monday and Tuesday, March 20th and 21st. Tickets are $3.00 each and limited to two tickets/students in grades 7 and 8. Click on the link below and return to school acknowledging this policy.

Green and Gold Beads will be sold on Monday and Tuesday of this week. Beads are 50 cents a strand or 3 strands for one dollar.
A high school transcript release form was distributed to the 8th graders. Please sign and return it to school as soon as possible. Below is a link to the form.
School is closed on Friday, March 24th as the teachers and I will participate in a full day of professional development. The Home-School Association is sponsoring an event at Bounce in Syosset. Click below to access the flyer.

Oldies But Goodies:
The school’s water was tested a few months ago. The results came back and indicated that one fixture in the Newman Kitchen exceeded the NYS DOH’s action level of lead of 15 ppb. That fixture has been labeled “Not for Drinking or Cooking” and will be shut off. The complete report is embedded below. The use of water bottles is no longer necessary.
