My name is Mrs. Magarie. I am so blessed to be apart of our school community! This will be my second year teaching 3rd Grade here at St. Agnes School. I graduated from Adelphi University, where I earned a degree in Childhood Education. I also earned my Masters degree Special Education at Molloy College. I am looking forward to a wonderful year! ELA: How can we make a meaningful difference in our local or global community?
Writing: We continue our practice on paragraph writing using the 'Hamburger' graphic organizer as a guide to writing a proper paragraph.
Math: Our focus will be on measuring the area of objects. Lots of 'hands on' activities will be included in our lessons.
Students are still to practice their multiplication facts to improve fluency.
Science: We continue with our unit on weather. Topics include the water cycle, weather instruments, climate.
Social Studies: The children are learning about geography of the United States.
Projects: Students are currently working on 2 projects:
**President Biographies (at home assignment)
**Famous African Americans quilt assignment (in-class assignment).
Religion: We are learning about the Kingdom of God. Sudents wii explore the teachings of Christ through his parables, miracles, lessons, and example.
