3-1 Ms. Giovanna Buscemi

Welcome to Third Grade!

I’m Ms. Buscemi and this is my fifth year teaching at St. Agnes. Over the last five years, I have taught both 2nd and 3rd grade. I previously worked as a Substitute Teacher for the West Islip School District and Eastern Suffolk BOCES. I received my Undergraduate Degree from St. Joseph’s College in Early Childhood Education/Childhood Education. I am dual-certified in both General Education and Special Education. I also received my Masters in Teaching Literacy from Touro College. Some of the things that I enjoy are the beach, my family/friends and reading. 

I am so excited to experience this year with all of you!

*Please make sure your child has 2 reading level appropriate books with them in the classroom at all times for DEAR time.

SPELLING TEST RUBRIC
4 = 18-17 correct (thorough & consistent)
3 = 16-14 correct (grade level)
2 = 13-11 correct (partial understanding)
1 = 10-1 correct (minimal understanding)

READING TEST RUBRIC
4 = 25-23 correct (thorough & consistent)
3 = 22-19 correct (grade level)
2 = 18-16 correct (partial understanding)
1 = 15-1 correct (minimal understanding)
