This year in ELA we will read novels, short stories, and poetry while using reading strategies to discover deeper meanings. Students will also learn new writing strategies to write more extensive analysis essays as well as continuing to build vocabulary and grammar skills.
It's my goal that students will come away this year with a love of reading and writing and a greater understanding of the workings of our language.

ISAIAH 12:4-5: And on that day you will say, "Give thanks to the LORD, call on His name. Make known His deeds among the peoples; make them remember that His name is exalted." Praise the LORD in song, for He has done glorious things; let this be known throughout the earth.

Father in Heaven, Creator of all and source of all goodness and love, please look kindly upon us and receive our heartfelt gratitude in this time of giving thanks.
Thank you for all the graces and blessings. You have betowed upon us, spiritual and temporal: our faith and religious heritage. Our food and shelter, our health, the loves we have for one another, our family and friends.
Dear Father, in Your infinite generosity, please grant us continued graces and blessing throughout the coming year.
This we ask in the Name of Jesus, Your Son and our Brother. Amen.
