When you grow up with a father who is a teacher, a mother who is a teacher, and your only sibling - you guessed it - A TEACHER, the career choice for you is kind of a no-brainer! I’ll begin by saying that I knew I would be a teacher from a very young age!
This is my 19th year teaching kindergarten at St. Agnes, and my 22nd year teaching. I held a double major in Elementary Education and Psychology at Rider University, where I received my B.S., and continued at Hofstra University, where I received my M.A. in Literacy Studies. Though I am certified N-6, kindergarten is definitely where my heart is. I hope that I am able to instill a love of learning in my students as they begin their first year of elementary school.
I LOVE to read – the library is definitely my happy place, and you are as likely to find me browsing the racks in the Children’s Room as in the Adult! However, reading takes a backseat to my new passion in life – spending time with my son! My husband and I have traded in our summer vacations in Europe for summer vacations in Sesame Place, and candlelit dinners for Panera, and we couldn’t be happier.
