Children on all grade levels receive instruction in physical education once in a 6-day cycle. The New York State Standards on Physical Education are used as a guide.
The program includes strategies and activities that emphasize gross motor and manipulative skills and body management, the development of specialized sport skills that can be used for recreation, the practice of basic conditioning concepts for physical fitness, and activities that emphasize the importance of healthy competition and good sportsmanship.
Each year, the students in grades 6-8 participate in The Presidents Challenge Physical Fitness Test.
